What about the 'Punks' you may ask. William Gibson's 'Neuromancer' combined “low-life and high tech”, in an early novel of the SciFi genre known as Cyberpunk. Gibson collaborated with Bruce Sterling writing an alternative history novel 'The Difference Engine', considered a classic of the SciFi genre Steampunk. The broad category of Retrofuturism also includes (among others) Dieselpunk and Atompunk. All accepted here too. 😎
